Railfan 2025
December 2025 – I thought it would be neat to create a post for my past calendars with some additional information compared to the calendar. Each year will have varying amounts of notes, but will all contain the original caption and description, date taken, and the location on a map.
2024 felt like a slim year for railfanning. A new job meant a lot less time off and as a result, I did not have enough quality photos photos I liked from the year to put into the calendar. So, I pulled a few from previous years that just didn’t fit in those calendars. I have noted those with a year at the end of the caption. The two background photos on this page are from 2023.
I know that many of you enjoy my calendar very much, I appreciate all of you! Thanks for the kind words each year and your continued support of my work.

In the Summer of 2023, CPKC performed several tests of their steam engine, 2816, in preparation for the 2024 trip from Calgary down to Mexico City. Fortunately, there were several trips from Calgary to Lethbridge which allowed me to sneak away from work and grab some photos when it was closer to Lethbridge. CPKC did not publicly announce these tests and I often did not know until the day of the run, that it was actually occuring. This makes it difficult to book time off work in advance!
